Live Dates

The Oxo Cubans, are back playing gigs again, thankfully. We have a Otago Hospice fundraiser show coming up on Saturday 24th September. With Covid rapidly slowing down in New Zealand we are back playing gigs thankfully. I have been busy working on all manner of different shows. I have done two recording sessions recently. One with the excellent bass player, Brian Graham, from the Dunedin band Tomahawk Radio, on a side project for him. That was great fun playing some good original rock tunes. Can't wait to hear the final mixes. Then prior to that, I recorded an album for local musician, Aart Smith. This album was produced by my dear friend, Murray Burns, from Mi-Sex and recorded with the excellent, Tom Bell engineering from Port Chalmers Recording Services. It was a fun few days recording a bunch of good Aart Smith, original songs with great local players, like Dave Harrison, John Dodd and Doug Wright.

I have also been hired to play with Steve ' Mercury Rising' Larkins, who performs an excellent Freddie Mercury tribute. He really puts on a great show. It was fun playing all those great Queen hits to a packed theatre. Reminded me a little of my time in 1985, when I supported Queen. The band I was in at the time, Sport of Kings, played as support band to Queen for four nights in Melbourne. It was a brilliant time. There is one more Mercury Rising show at the Mornington TapHouse on Friday 23rd September, 2022. I'm looking forward to it already. Tickets available online.
