TWO NEW TRACKS Released. December, 2024
I have released two new tracks and have added these to my first EP ‘ The Art of Not Looking Back’, available on Spotify and Apple Music. Thank you to Laneway Music, Sydney
The first track is called ‘ PALAVA STAR’ An upbeat, positive chill track that has a vibe of its own. The second track is called ‘ MARTIN’S SONG, which I wrote and was inspired by, the funeral of Martin Phillips of The Chills. I watched his funeral online after I had just started working on this track and was fully inspired by the mood, the speakers and the feeling in the room. It’s not a tribute song but merely my way of expressing what I felt at the time. I hope you enjoy both tracks, There is much more new music to come in 2025!

My first ever solo EP ‘ The Art of Not Looking Back’ is OUT NOW!
It’s with much delight I announce the release of my first ever solo adventure around the vast world of music. The EP, ‘The Art of Not Looking Back’ is a seven track EP of instrumental chill music featuring my guitar and not the drum kit. Ricky Orbit, is a song writing project Marcel started some years ago with friend and musical
compatriot, bass player, Denis Gibbins. Both Denis and Marcel went on a wild ride with 70’s New
Zealand band, Mother Goose.

Based in Australia, Mother Goose signed to Mushroom Records and recorded three albums, countless singles and videos and toured all over, as well as the US, Canada and New Zealand. You’ll find Mother Goose band videos on YouTube. Denis and Marcel remain connected, both as a musical rhythm section,

From time to time, they collaborate with other artists such singer and writer, Jack Parker from Melbourne and singer, writer, producer, guitarist, David Harrison from Dunedin. You’ll find Ricky Orbit on iTunes and Spotify. Currently, Marcel and Denis are demoing new Ricky Orbit music for future releases.
